Our visas arrived and everything else around me turned fake. The only piece of reality was the little passport with the Spanish visa next to a picture of my face. And yet, the entire situation is too surreal. My siblings and I aren’t going to Spain. We aren’t going to World Youth Day. We aren’t going to see Pope Benedict XVI.
And yet…all that will become a reality in less than two months.
Less than two months to prepare for a twelve-day trip from Barcelona to Lourdes to Torreciudad to Madrid, with one carry-on, one backpack, one Spanish Dictionary, and thirty other ladies. WYD 2011 here we come!
