Kate Gosselin Dating Show: True or Not?

Kate Gosselin, the 35-year-old Kate Plus 8 star, is "working on a deal to do a new reality dating series with ABC", according to Life & Style magazine.

A year after splitting from ex-husband Jon Gosselin, the single mom is ready for a romance again, an insider revealed that to the magazine, “Kate would love to have someone in her life. She really misses the companionship. She wishes she had a man around to help her out.”

Ummm…it sounds great in theory. But is it true?

A rep at ABC told Eonline that the reports are “not true”. And an insider at ABC confirmed that there is no dating show with Kate on their development slate.

"The Life & Style info is inaccurate. Kate is working on two shows, Kate Plus 8 and Twist of Kate, and that is all. The rumors started when she was on Jimmy Kimmel Live after she was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars and the other guest was Ali (from The Bachelorette). Jimmy jokingly said that Kate should be the next Bachelorette. Kate laughed and made it clear that she had no interest. Then Kate appeared on Live With Regis & Kelly and Kelly also said that Kate should be the next Bachelorette. Again, Kate laughed and said she had no interest." Kate's TLC rep explained.

Jon and Kate Gosselin, the stars of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8, have filed for divorce in a Pennsylvania court Monday morning, after 10 years of marriage.

"Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children. While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children." Kate Gosselin said in a statement Monday night.

Jon Gosselin also released a statement of his own, in it says, “This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that."

"This will be a difficult transition for all of us, but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing."

Jon and Kate publicly announced “the big announcement” - they are splitting up - on Monday night’s hour-long special episode.

The couple have 8 kids together, five-year-old sextuplets and eight-year-old twin girls.

Their marriage has been on the rocks for months. Jon was spotted apartment hunting in NYC last week.

Kate was on the phone when the children playing outside of their Reading, Pa., home on June 13. The 34-year-old alllegedly lost control when Leah blew a whistle for numerous times after she'd been asked not to. The mother-of-8 "stormed over to her daughter, grabbed her and hit her,” the newest issue of In Touch weekly magazine reported.

"The girl was screaming and crying, Kate just pushed her away and walked off with her coffee. Her older sisters were trying to make Leah feel better.” In Touch quoted a witness as saying.
