LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are officially engaged to get married!

"Eddie [Cibrian] and I got engaged over the holidays. That's the news. It's for real this time and the first time EVER!" the 28-year-old singer confirmed her engagement via Twitter on Monday.

"It was nice to have our little secret for us our families and friend’s a few days! So excited to now share the wonderful news with our fans. Thank you for all your well wishes!!" Rimes Tweeted, "We are extremely excited and look forward to a beautiful future. It’s been an incredible last few days, I was shocked!!! We are blessed, our families are so happy and our lives are filled with love."

LeAnn Rimes controversially began dating her Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian last year while she was still married to backup dancer Dean Sheremet. Cibrian, 37, who has two children with ex Brandi Glanville, was still married at the time. The actor left his wife for Rimes and filed for divorce in 2009 after eight years of marriage.

Rumors spread after Cibrian tweeted a photo of himself bending knees to Rimes on Halloween day. But the 28-year-old country singer took her Twitter to deny the reports that she's Engaged to her loving actor boyfriend Eddie Cibrian, 37, on Friday afternoon.

“Ok, I've about had it with the lack of "reporting" with E News. The fact that our "engagement" has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible "sources" they seem to find and build a story around. When CNN is calling my publicist off of a lie E News has reported, the media world seriously has a problem with their lack of responsibility to the public to actually report the truth. Even though this is positive "news" its not true.”

Ater blasting E! News and its two reporters, Rimes continued, “Eddie and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all. Hopefully will be able to enjoy it privately and share it with our family and friend's before the world knows.”

"I'M PREGNANT TOO!!! LOL," she joked and finished with, "Thanks to all of our wonderful fans for the premature congats, but for now, let's all be happy we're happy and still and will remain together! Eddie and I felt we couldn't let this rumor go on any longer."

LeAnn Rimes, the 28-year-old singer, controversially began dating her Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian last year while she was still married to backup dancer Dean Sheremet.

E! News was first to report the news, saying that Cibrian popped the question on Halloween after he posted a photo of himself bending knees to Rimes on Twitter. And the next morning, Rimes tweeted that the proposal was not a joke:

"Ok, it was "TRICK-or treat" right! @eddiecibrian and I were having a little fun. That pic was taken at Universal City walk right before a private event I did there earlier this month.@eddiecibrian is WAY more romantic than to proper to me in front of a "lunatic" sign. LeAnn Rimes Hit-and-Run? LeAnn Rimes Questioned by Police about Brentwood Hit-and-Run

LeAnn Rimes has been questioned by Los Angeles Police on Thursday (August 20) at her home after she was accused of a misdemeanor hit-and-run, according to reports.

The alleged accident took place in Brentwood at 7:45 p.m. on Montana Avenue. No other details were available.

"There was a routine police investigation into this incident, and a police report was filed. We are confident that this matter will be resolved shortly and LeAnn will be cleared." a rep for Rimes said.

Earlier Thursday afternoon, LeAnn Rimes was spotted playing golf with rumored boyfriend Eddie Cibrian in Valencia, California in their first public outing.
